Anyone can promise a warranty. What matters is whether it's written down, whether you know what it covers, and whether the company is still around and willing to answer the phone in year three.
How It Works
At the end of every project you get a documented handover: what was installed, whose products were used, what the manufacturer covers, what our workmanship covers, and how long each lasts.
That matters because most warranty disputes are really documentation disputes. When the terms were agreed at closeout and written down, there's nothing to argue about later. You call, we look at what the paperwork says, and we deal with it.
Workmanship coverage stated in writing, not implied in conversation.
Manufacturer warranties registered and the paperwork handed to you.
Punch list closed before we leave, not carried into the warranty period.
One number to call, answered by the company that did the work.
Two Kinds of Cover
Almost everything on your project carries one of these, and they behave differently.
How the work was installed. If flashing was detailed wrong, a joint opened up, or something wasn't fitted to spec, that's ours to put right and we don't argue about it.
The product itself: shingles, windows, doors, decking, appliances. Terms are set by the maker, often decades long, and frequently depend on correct installation, which is where we come back in.
Questions
Get in touch through the contact page or call the office with your address and a description of the issue. Photographs help. We'll arrange to come and look rather than diagnosing it over the phone.
Normal wear, damage from storms or accidents, and issues arising from deferred maintenance generally fall outside workmanship cover. Storm damage is usually an insurance matter, and we can help you document it.
Many manufacturer warranties transfer to a new owner, sometimes at reduced terms and often only if registered. The specifics are in your closeout documents, and we're happy to look them up with you.
It happens, particularly with siding and roofing colors. We'll work with the manufacturer on the closest current equivalent and be straight with you about how well it matches.
We do return for maintenance work on projects we've completed, particularly exterior finishes and decks that need periodic attention. Ask and we'll tell you what's sensible and when.
